Actually, it was good suprrise. It is well-located. It took me a 2-minute walk from the metro station, Anton Martin. I had to be in Chueca for the Gaypride. It did not take me much on foot. I had to cross la Puerta del Sol. I liked the fact that I was out of the mayhem but still in the center. The hostel does not have internet but there are plenty of internet cafes in the vicinity open until 11 pm. There are also lot's of shops, pubs, restaurants. For sure, you will not starve! The last but not least! The staff was very welcoming and pleasant. I talked to 3 different receptionists. There were excellent. They could surely work in a 5 star- hotel with their high level of customer service. Special mention for Manuel. Eres un amor! Hasta la proxima :)

The location is near the metro. Easy to travel back and forth. The staff was helpful.
The room and the bed were too small. Not very insulated from the noise. I did not have hot water one time because the staff forgot to heat the water.

Clean, modern decor, convenient access to public transport
The check-in process at a separate location was quite inconvenient!!! Soundproofing between rooms left much to be desired!!!

Staff was really friendly, my room was really clean. I had everything I needed there during those two nights I spent there. Will be glad to return there.
I find it strange that we could not lock our room and take key with us but apart from that no complains really. I did feel safe leaving stuff at my room , because room was locked by staff member only It would be better if we could keep the key.

Works ok as a place just for spending the night
I chose this place because of its proximity to a metro station, which is only about 30m away. After checking out of the hostal early in the morning (about 8am), we were harassed by two youngsters right outside the hostal, and they followed us down the stairs leading to the metro station, where they robbed us. Yes, robbed, grabbed my wallet and took money. Going by how experienced they seemed at what they do, I suspect we were not the first victims. At night, there is no lighting on the street where the hostal is located. I think it is better to pay more to stay around the Sol area where there are police patrolling the streets. If you must stay here, hop on a taxi if you're out early in the morning, and make sure you don't keep your wallet in your pocket. There is nothing wrong with this hostal really, but there is something seriously wrong with the neighborhood.

I truly enjoyed the hotel, it's absolutely great and the location is unbeatable near to everything. Location: the property was close to metro station. I visited Ferreteria by Ego minutes away from the venue for a few drinks.

It has a reasonable price for a private double room. The bathroom was always smelling good and it was very clean.
The hostel was really weird, we didn't get to keep the key, so the bedroom was left opened when we went out. When I payed for our stay, I asked the recepcionist for a receipt and he said that the day after by the morning the other recepcionist would give me it, but this second man said that he didn't have access to the room where the receipt was left. I stayed in a room for two, but the bed was actually a bigger bed for one person, not at all a bed for two people.

The staff were extremely friendly, and make themselves available at any time of the day. As such, no room keys were required, as there was always someone available to 'buzz' you in. The facilities, although not modern, were very clean. A great place to rest your head after visiting the vibrant, and colourful city that is Madrid. Several minutes walk from Sol, it is close the centre, and therefore to shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, parks, museums, and galleries.
One downside to being open all night, is that people arrive at any time of the day, and the buzzer was very audible from our room. However; if you’re planning to party, this shouldn’t be a problem. During our stay, we were only awoken two or three times over two nights.
